It's likely that the wifi to your PS3 is intermittent Yeah I found that out pretty quickly after connecting my ps3 to wired. I now have it downstairs connected through ethernet, but my dad's not all too happy. The cat6 cables through the walls doesn't sound like a bad idea. I recently moved and have set up my PS3 to replay some old games. My PS4 is set up as well. I'm using the university's wifi to connect to the internet. I had both consoles set up and able to connect to internet and PSN. However, my PS3 is no longer connecting to PSN. It still connects to the internet and I can browse but it won't log in to PSN.
